Cash Ratings explained

Cash Rating is ‘The amount an insurance company will cover a safe or cabinet.’ The actual amount of cover varies between insurers and locations, so it could be worth checking with your insurer. As a general rule, the ‘Cash Rating’ is multiplied by 10 for jewellery,, so a safe with a cash rating of £10,000 will store jewellery in a domestic setting up to £100,000.

Fire Rating

Measured through tests carried out by independent testing authorities. The longer the period in minutes, the greater the fire resistance offered. The critical temperature before paper documents combust is 177ºC, whereas data media is damaged at temperatures over 52ºC or humidity over 85%.
